The Programme Committee provides scientific and analytical support for the activities of the RNC of the WPC to promote Russian interests in the formation of the programmes of the World Petroleum Congress and other WPC and RNC of the WPC events, as well as to ensure broad and effective participation of oil, gas and other Russian fuel and energy sector specialists in the relevant events.


The Committee is made up of scientists and specialists recommended by member organisations of the RNC of the WPC, invited representatives of other Russian specialised organisations, experts and professionals who have personally expressed their willingness work for the Committee. The Committee also includes the heads of the Public Sections and RNC of the WPC Youth Committee.


The Committee is normally renewed every three years. The cycle ends when the next World Petroleum Congress is held. Committee members who are actively involved can be re-elected an unlimited number of times.


Programme Committee is currently chaired by Alexander Nekipelov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is also Russia's official representative in the Programme Committee of the World Petroleum Council.
