In 2015 the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council (RNC of the WPC) established a scholarship “Golden Legacy of the WPC”, which aims at identifying the most talented and successful students from all over Russia. The competition is held twice a year.

Scholarship of the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council "Golden Legacy of the WPC" is appointed for students studying at Russian educational institutions of higher professional education full-time in state-accredited educational programmes of Bachelor, Master or PhD studies in various areas of oil and gas profile.

Main selection criteria are:

• full-time student (bachelor, specialist, master, graduate student) in oil and gas;
• high average score (GPA);
• special achievements in the scientific or public sphere.

So far, 8 competitive selections of the fellows have been held. The winners of the "Golden Legacy of the WPC" scholarship were 70 representatives of 22 Russian higher education institutions.
