Winners of the “Golden Legacy of the WPC” scholarship were invited to Saint Petersburg

The honoring of students and post-graduate students, who were awarded scholarships "Golden Legacy of the World Petroleum Council" according to the results of the competitive selection, took place on 23rd October in St. Petersburg, at the main site of the 3rd Russian-UK Raw Materials Dialogue in the multifunctional complex "Gorny". In the presence of leading experts of the two countries in the field of subsoil use, the awards were presented by Valery Yazev, Chairman of the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council, and Vlada Streletskaya, Director of the RNC of the WPC.

The scholarship "Golden legacy" was established in 2015 to encourage distinguished students and postgraduates with an active life position. Over the years, it has established a reputation as a significant award among students. Competitive selection of fellows, appointment and one-time payment of scholarships are held twice a year – based on the previous semester.

Ten students and post-graduate students studying at ten universities that prepare specialists for the oil and gas industry were awarded the scholarship. All of them were invited and had an opportunity to be at the discussions during the 3rd Russian-UK Raw Materials Dialogue.

Scholarships are usually awarded in a solemn atmosphere at international events – it is one of the traditions of the “Golden Legacy of the WPC”. Thus, the winners of the previous competition were awarded at the VI Future Leaders Forum, which held in June 2019 in St. Petersburg.

The Russian-UK Raw Materials Dialogue is a unique platform for discussing various assessments, approaches and priorities in addressing the challenges faced by Russia and the UK in the mineral and raw materials sector. In 2019, the main topic of discussion was the development of the investment potential of the mineral resources sector.
