The educational and career guidance project "EnerGenious" is an annual educational program for schoolchildren and students. It serves as the initial stage of the large-scale "Energy League" project and provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the world of the oil and gas industry through solving real-world problems and direct interaction with industry leaders.

The "EnerGenious" project is a flagship initiative of the WPC Energy Russian National Committee, endorsed by the World Petroleum Council. It serves as the launching point for the "Energy League" project – a comprehensive system designed to attract talented young people to the fuel and energy complex, and to support their professional training and career growth.
The program is organized by the WPC Energy RNC with the support of the Government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra and key industry partners: Saint Petersburg Mining University, UNESCO International Competence Centre for Mining Engineering Education, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, as well as leading companies in the oil and gas sector.
Program Goals:Education and Orientation: To provide a deep understanding of the specifics, challenges, and prospects of the oil and gas industry.
Talent Identification: To find the most motivated and gifted schoolchildren and students to form the future talent pipeline for the fuel and energy complex.
Practice and Skills: To teach participants how to solve real-world production problems under conditions that closely mirror reality.
Who is "EnerGenious" for?Schoolchildren in grades 9–11 (15–18 years old) from Russia and other countries.
College and university students (16–24 years old) majoring in oil and gas and related fields.
Program Structure:The programme includes two interconnected and mandatory events that simulate the full project life cycle:
1. "EnerGenious" Case Marathon (Online)This is a business game combined with intensive online learning. Participants form teams of 5–6 people.
End-to-End Methodology: The remote part is divided into three stages — Appraisal, Selection, Definition (ASD) — which precisely correspond to the phases of developing a major oil and/or gas field.
Realistic Tasks: Participants solve cases that are completely analogous to the tasks faced by specialists from leading industry companies.
Mentoring: Each team is assigned an experienced industry mentor who consults, draws parallels to real projects, and oversees the team's effectiveness.
Defense and Evaluation: At the end of each stage, teams defend their reports before a jury consisting of case authors and experts.
2. The "EnerGenious" Winter School (Onsite Final)The Winter School is an intensive introductory course and the culmination of the program, corresponding to the Project Implementation phase.
Practical Implementation: Teams create a physical model of the facility, striving to adhere to time and budget constraints while improving upon the target indicators achieved during the remote stage.
Expert Lectures: Leading professionals from the oil and gas industry are invited to deliver lectures.
Field Trips: A unique opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the organization of production processes through visits to operational sites.
Networking: Live meetings with industry veterans, representatives of companies, and partner universities.
What Do Participants Gain?Unprecedented Experience: Master the skills of teamwork, project management, and applying theoretical knowledge in practice.
Career Prospects: A chance to showcase your talents to future employers, join the "Energy League" program, and receive additional points towards the Unified State Exam (EGE) for admission to leading specialized universities.
Expert Community: Gain access to knowledge and networking opportunities with the industry's top specialists.
A Trip to the Main Oil and Gas Region of Russia: All expenses for participation in the onsite final in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra are covered by the organizers.
Program Status: Interregional initiative with international participation.
