Winter school “EnerGenious” was opened in Khanty-Mansiysk

On 22 March in Khanty-Mansiysk, the EnerGenious Winter school started. The event is organised by the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council.


This year the participants of the educational project are about 100 high school students and students of specialized Universities of Russia. Schoolchildren from 10 cities and towns of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra and St. Petersburg met in Khanty-Mansiysk. The students participating in the Winter school represent 17 universities from 12 regions of the Russian Federation.


The Winter School “EnerGenious” is an intensive introductory course allowing the participants to get not only theoretical knowledge about the oil and gas industry, but also to get acquainted with the organisation of production processes in practice. Educational programme covers a wide range of areas of the oil and gas industry, such as oil and gas exploration, subsoil use, production, transportation and processing of hydrocarbons, digitalization, offshore resources development. Authoritative experts have been invited for giving the lectures. Young participants of the educational project were greeted by Tor Fjaeran, President of the World Petroleum Council, and Ulrike von Lonski, Chief Operating Officer of the World Petroleum Council.


A huge programme has been prepared for the participants of the Winter school. It includes technical tours to the Gazpromneft-Khantos Production Management Centre, the Core Storage Facility, and visits to museums and places of interest in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra.


Winter school is held with the participation and support of Executive Authorities of KhMAO – Ugra and Saint Petersburg, Gubkin University and Saint Petersburg Mining University, International Competence Centre for Mining-Engineering Education Under the Auspices of UNESCO.
