In November 2021, the third cycle of the EnerGenious educational project organised by the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council together with the Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra will be launched. Like in previous years, the programme includes case marathon and winter school. The participants of the project will be students and schoolchildren.

“EnerGenious” educational project focuses on broadening and deepening young people's understanding of the oil and gas industry, engaging the most capable and motivated members of the new generation in the industry, and facilitating career guidance and professional training.

The central activity of the project is a three-month case marathon, where participants in assembled teams carry out tasks that are as close as possible to the challenges oil and gas companies face in practice.

This year participants of the project are offered a choice of 5 case studies, developed by RNC WPC together with leading Russian companies and universities of the oil and gas industry:
• Gazprom Neft: Offshore oil field development;
• Rimera Group: Improving ESP manufacturing technology (for students); Creating a business development strategy for an oilfield service provider (for schoolchildren)
• Lukoil Perm: Digital age, or who are they, Homo digital? (developing a competency model for oil and gas corporation employees, etc.);
• Saint Petersburg Mining University: Creation of a hydrocarbon field development concept;
• Gubkin University: Optimising production processes of oil and gas transportation.

Schoolchildren and students are selected to participate in “EnerGenious-2022” educational project on a competitive basis. Any student (1-4 year of study) from a Russian or foreign university in the oil and gas profile, as well as a schoolchild in grade 9-11from Russian school can become a candidate.

The video has to be no longer than 3 minutes and should include a short story about yourself and your personal achievements, your motivation for participating in the project, your strengths and how they will help in the project. Students also need to include a reflection on their role in the oil and gas industry, and schoolchildren should talk about what they know about the oil and gas industry and who they want to become in it.

The winners of the competition will receive invitations to participate in the case marathon.

The final stage of “EnerGenious-2022” educational project, which includes a final of the case marathon and winter school classes, will take place in spring 2022 in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra at the site of the V International Youth Applied Research Forum “Oil Capital”.
