A competition for the RNС of WPC scholarship "Golden legacy"
A competitive selection of students and graduates of specialized courses nominated by educational institutions of Russia for the appointment of a scholarship of the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council "Golden legacy" has already started. Competitive selection of fellows, appointment and one-time payment of scholarships are held twice a year – based on the previous semester. Every educational institution has the opportunity to nominate up to five applicants. The final selection is made by the Scholarship Appointments Commission, members of which are verified by the Director of the RNC of WPC. In 2019 10 fellows will be selected, each of whom will receive a financial reward.

The scholarship "Golden legacy" was established in 2015 to encourage distinguished students and postgraduates with an active life position. The competitive selection of fellows takes into account such criteria as a high average score of the candidate (not less than 4,75), the presence of academic, sports, creative, social and other documented achievements. All applicants should write an essay on "Why I deserve a scholarship" and record a video message in English on the topic "My place in the oil and gas industry". The competition involves applications received before May 22, 2019.

"The Golden legacy scholarship was established by the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council in 2015. Over the years, it has established a reputation as a significant award among students. In addition to financial support, which is important for any student, public recognition is also essential. Scholarships are usually awarded in a solemn atmosphere at international events," explained Vlada Streletskaya, Director of the Russian National Committee of the WPC.

This season, in addition to financial support, the fellows will be given an opportunity to participate in the 6th Youth Forum of the World Petroleum Council: the registration fee, travel and accommodation will be paid for them by the Russian National Committee of the WPC. The award ceremony will take place at one of the forum venues during the Forum.

Future Leaders Forum - 2019 will be held in St. Petersburg on June 23 – 28. The main events of the program will be held on the grounds of the Mining University. It is expected that the Forum will be attended by up to 1,200 students and young professionals of the oil and gas industry from dozens of countries. The Minister of Energy of Russia Alexander Novak chairs the Organizing Committee of the Forum.
