The Russian National Industry Magazine "Neftegazovaya Vertical" has published a large article describing the positive experience of the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council in organising professional training of the new generation of oil and gas industry specialists.

According to the author of the article, the world oil and gas industry is no longer as much popular among young people as it used to be in the middle of the last century. There are many reasons for it, but one of the main reasons is poor awareness of young people about the real situation in the oil and gas industry, its opportunities and prospects. The publication goes on to say that in response to this challenge, the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council has chosen attracting young people's attention to the oil and gas industry, training new generation specialists, helping them to reach their potential and career growth as one of its basic priorities.

The publication notes that for RNC of the WPC, which organised the VI Youth Forum of the World Petroleum Council – Future Leaders Forum in St. Petersburg last summer, consistent work with young people has become one of the main areas of activity. A complex programme "Energy League" has been developed and is being implemented. Its main idea is to help attract talented and proactive young people to the industry, to assist their professional training and career growth.

The article informs that the multistage work with the youth audience initiated by RNC of the WPC begins with the organisation of introductory classes for high school students in winter and summer professional schools "EnerGenious", continues in the student environment in the formats of scientific conferences, mentoring, internships using the online platform PetroStage, educational trips, scholarships "Golden legacy of the WPC", grants. Young professionals will benefit from the programme of support and development of oil and gas start-ups – this direction is also part of the educational programme "Energy League".

“Neftegazovaya Vertical" describes in detail the essence and results of the Energy League's main activities. The publication particularly notes that the initiative of RNC of the WPC was supported by the leading companies of the oil and gas industry of Russia, the administrations of several regions.
