RNC of the WPC Programme Committee is chaired by Academician Nekipelov

Full Member (Academician) of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nekipelov was approved as a Chairman of RNC of the WPC Programme Committee at the General Meeting (Plenum) of the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council. His candidacy is proposed to the World Petroleum Council as the official representative of the Russian Federation in the WPC Programme Committee.


The Programme Committee plays a key role in shaping the agenda of the World Petroleum Congresses. On the eve of the World Petroleum Congress scheduled to take place in Houston, USA, in December 2021, the role of the official country representative in the Programme Committee is particularly important in terms of promoting national interests.


Alexander Nekipelov is an expert of the oil and gas industry specifics and the challenges it faces. For several years he chaired the Board of Directors of Rosneft, was a member of the Boards of Directors of Transneft and Zarubezhneft. He is a member of the Presidential Commission for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security.


A. Nekipelov was born in 1951, graduated from Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosov (Economic Faculty). For a long time he worked at the Institute for International Economic and Political Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Currently he is a Director of the Moscow School of Economics of the Moscow State University M.V.Lomonosov.
