Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council took part in the preparation and holding of the International Festival of Children's and Youth's Scientific and Technical Creativity “Ot Vinta!”. Since 2015 Festival has been the leading project of The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation to support engineering creativity and career guidance for young people, scientific initiatives, technological entrepreneurship and innovative startups. The event took place in Krasnodar on 25-27 March.

As part of the Festival, RNC of the WPC organised an online conference "A Drop of Oil – An Ocean of Opportunities". By joining the live stream, high school and university students had the opportunity to learn about the specifics of the oil and gas industry and gain insight into all segments of the technological chain: from exploration and field development to production and sales of petroleum products.

The speakers were young professionals – representatives of oil and gas companies, scientific and educational centres. These included Ivan Novikov (Salym Petroleum), Arslan Abiev (Halliburton), Alexey Vodopyan (Gazpromneft – Digital Solutions), Vladislav Vlasov (Heriot Watt), Danil Remezov (Transneft – Upper Volga), Anna Kononenko (Rosneft), Anna Illarionova, Communications and Sustainability Manager at an international energy company.

Anatoly Zolotukhin, Senior Vice-President of the World Petroleum Council and Deputy Chairman of the RNC of the WPC, was the special guest of the event.

Speakers answered questions from the audience. Eleonora Belova, representative of the Youth Committee of the RNC of the WPC, moderated the event.

International Festival “Ot Vinta!” was the key youth event of the Year of Science and Technology programme announced by the President of the Russian Federation. It brought together young people who will become the country's technological elite – the future general constructors of leading companies, world leaders in technology and probably even Nobel laureates.

RNC of the WPC has consistently promoted the oil and gas industry to young people. The Festival's ' platform has enabled the Association to attract the attention of a large number of young people with an active lifestyle from many regions of Russia to the industry.
