Participants from Bolivia will take part in RNC WPC Conference

During international conference “Oil and Gas Industry Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals” it is planned to discuss industry-specific features of economic, environmental and energy approaches oriented towards achieving the best results in line with the new requirements.


Third session will be opened by Alexander Shirov, Corresponding member of RAS, Director at Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IEF RAS) with the presentation “Role of energy sector in Russia's low-carbon development strategy”. Business side will be presented by Lyubov Brish, General Director of Gazprom Helium Service Ltd.


Sustainable management of natural resources in the Arctic will be the subject of presentations by Vasily Bogoyavlensky, Corresponding member of RAS, Deputy Science Director at Oil and Gas Research Institute Russian Academy of Sciences (OGRI RAS) and Mikhail Grigoriev, Director of GECON consulting company.


Franklin Molina Ortiz, Bolivian Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy will take part in the conference. Armin Ludwig Dorgathen Tapia, Vice President of Administration, Contracts and Control of Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) will speak about “Gas market and exploration opportunities in Bolivia”.


The processes associated with the increasing role of gas in the decarbonisation of the global energy sector will be explored in presentations by Vladimir Kucherov, professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm, Sweden) and Elena Fedorova, Head of the Department of Oil Refining and Gas Processing Equipment at Gubkin University.


The conference “Oil and Gas Industry Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals” is organised by RNC of the WPC and will take place on 6th October at the venue of the 10th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (5-8 October, Expoforum, Saint Petersburg).
