Valery Yazev was elected the Chairman of RNC WPC
At the general meeting of the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council (RNC WPC) Valery Yazev was unanimously elected chairman of the RNC of the World Petroleum Council. Viktor Martynov, who previously held this post, was relieved of his duties as chairman of the RNC WPC on his personal request.

Valery Afanasyevich Yazev has a rich experience of political activity and international cooperation. For 16 years he was a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, headed the State Duma Committee on Energy, was elected deputy chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. He was at the origin of the creation of the Russian gas society. He is the president of the Non-Profit Partnership for mining industries of Russia.

Speaking about his vision of the RNC WPC prospects, V.A. Yazev emphasized that the organization has considerable potential. A fuller disclosure will be facilitated by the activation of work in three key areas: international diplomacy, the consolidation of Russian companies in the oil and gas sector for sustainable development of our country’s economy, training and professional development of industry specialists.

“A lot of diverse and responsible work is ahead, both within the country and in terms of defending Russia’s positions at the international level. But in the short term it is necessary to focus on the preparation of the international youth forum in St. Petersburg so that it will be held at a worthy level and leave a bright mark in the memory of the future leaders of the world oil and gas industry,” the RNC WPC Chairman said.
