Call for Papers of the Future Leaders Forum – New Opportunities
The Organizing Committee of the 6th Future Leaders Forum of the World Petroleum Council made a decision to extend the deadline for call for papers, which will be proposed for discussions at the Forum’s Youth Technical Sessions, until February 20, 2019.

Submitted abstracts should summarize the results of research conducted by young specialists on the most relevant topics of the industry’s agenda.

Abstracts should be consistent with the topics of the Youth Technical Sessions, focused on topical issues of the future development of the oil and gas industry. The 9 topics submitted for discussion are grouped into three thematic blocks:
  • Leadership
    • New Approaches in Project Management
    • Emerging Trends in Energy Industry
    • Energy Markets in Transition
  • Innovations
    • Field Geology and Geophysics. Artificial Approach
    • Well construction, Drilling and Completion. Era of New Technologies
    • Oil and Gas Field Development, Production and Processing
  • Sustainability
    • Transportation Systems. Challenges and Solutions
    • Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Social Impact
    • Future of LNG
Abstracts are being submitted via the special registration form on the official website of the Future Leaders Forum. According to the results of received applications’ examination, the most interesting papers will be selected and the authors of these papers will receive invitation to deliver a presentation at the Forum.

«Additional time for preparation to participate in the contest is not the only good news, – says Vlada Streletskaya, Director of the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council. – The Organizing Committee of the Forum has supported our initiative to award winners of the call for papers’ competition with a free participation on the Forum. It means that there will be a free participation on the Youth Technical Sessions for the authors of the selected papers, which is a very good incentive».

Another very attractive bonus for young contest participants is the opportunity to publish their scientific work in the compendium indexed by Scopus, the Web of Science. This initiative was offered by the administration of St. Petersburg Mining University, which will be the main venue of the 6th Future Leaders Forum. The compendium will be published by the CRC Press (Taylor & Francis Group, UK), a business partner of the Mining University.

To be approved for reviewing procedure, which will take place before the inclusion of papers in the Forum’s collection of papers, articles should consist of not less than 6 pages, be designed according to the rules of the publishing house and be received no later than February 25, 2019. In addition, authors should submit a written consent to the publication and provide information on the presence or absence of borrowings in the article.

The 6th Youth Forum of the World Petroleum Council – Future Leaders Forum will be held in St. Petersburg on 23-28 June, 2019 It is expected that hundreds of students and young professionals from different countries will take part in the Forum. The Organizing Committee of the Forum is headed by Alexander Novak, the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation.
