Report of the Future Leaders Forum is presented in London

Anatoly Zolotukhin, Deputy Chairman of the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council, and Vlada Streletskaya, Director of the RNC of the WPC, presented an official report on the VI Youth Forum of the World Petroleum Council – Future Leaders Forum, which was held in St. Petersburg in June 2019, in the office of the World Petroleum Council. The President of the World Petroleum Council, Tor Fjaeran, and the Director General of the WPC, Pierce Riemer, who personally participated in the Forum, highly appreciated the level of organisation of this event, its technical and cultural programmes.

"Having volunteered to host the 2019 Future Leaders Forum in St. Petersburg, we set ourselves an ambitious goal: to hold the best Youth Forum in the history of the World Petroleum Council. It seems that we have succeeded. The Forum brought together 1,345 participants from 62 countries, who were offered an extensive technical and diverse cultural programmes," said Vlada Streletskaya.

She highlighted that the high professional level of discussions was predetermined by the unique composition of speakers – most of the 235 speakers have extensive experience of successful practical work in leading oil and gas companies or are well-known experts. Ministerial delegations from five countries have arrived to communicate with young professionals. The Forum participants had the opportunity to discuss the full range of issues related to the current state and future development of the global oil and gas industry, its role and place in the global energy system.

"The event set new standards in terms of the quality of the programme and speakers, excellent organisation and positive results, which are important for the formation of future industry leaders", –noted, describing the main results of the Forum, Tor Fjaeran.

This success is the result of the long and hard work of many enthusiasts. A huge role in the preparation of the event was played by the Russian Organising Committee headed by the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and the World Petroleum Council, personally by the President of the WPC Tor Fjaeran. The Youth Programme Committee, headed by Stephane Rousselet, conducted an excellent work, in which young representatives of the National Committees of the WPC from many countries actively participated. Kirill Molodtsov, Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee and Assistant to the Head of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, played an important role in solving organisational issues.

The high level of hospitality is, first of all, the merit of the Administration of St. Petersburg, which organised the effective interaction of a large number of municipal services and organisations. An outstanding cultural programme was organised by the St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee.

The fact that the Forum has become a bright and memorable event, is a great merit of many oil companies that sponsored the event, offered their authoritative specialists as speakers, formed youth delegations.
