At the reporting meeting of the World Petroleum Council Lesana Kurbonshoeva was elected as a Chairwoman of the WPC Young Professionals Committee. The meeting was held in Houston (USA).

Gubkin University graduate, Lesana Kurbonshoeva has shown leadership qualities even during her studies. She was involved in organising the International Student Scientific and Practical Congress "Oil and Gas Horizons", the forum "New Generation: Accross the Universe" and several summer schools at Gubkin University.

For a few years Lesana chaired the RNC WPC Youth Committee. Under her leadership, the Youth Committee has been very active and a number of initiatives by young members of the RNC WPC have been commended by the World Petroleum Council. Lesana Kurbonshoeva played a major role in preparing and holding the most outstanding youth event in the history of the World Petroleum Council – the 6th WPC Youth Forum – Future Leaders Forum (St. Petersburg, June 2019).

Young Professionals Committee of the World Petroleum Council was previously chaired by Stéphane Rousselet from France. At the meeting in Houston the World Petroleum Council elected Stéphane as Vice-President for Diversity, Inclusion and Youth.
