Seven Russian representatives were elected as Forum Officers at the World Petroleum Congress

Congress Programme Committee of the World Petroleum Council has announced the results of the competition for the Forum Officers at the 24th World Petroleum Congress to be held in Calgary (Canada) in September 2023. Seven Russian representatives are among the winners. Arsenii Kirichenko, Chief Economist at Department of Economical Expertise and Pricing at Gazprom PJSC was elected as a Chairman of Forum 10 “Smart infrastructure”.


Vice-Chairs of the Forums have been approved:

  • Dmitry Tananykhin, Dean of the Petroleum Faculty at Saint Petersburg Mining University (Forum 3 “Sustainable ways to maximise recovery”);
  • Nikolay Eremin, Deputy Director for Innovation, Chief Scientific Officer at Oil & Gas Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Forum 5 “New technologies in geoscience”);
  • Elena Fedorova, Head of Department at Gubkin University (Forum 11 “Innovations in LNG & FLNG for the Energy Transition”);
  • Roman Samsonov, Visiting Professor at Saint Petersburg Mining University (Forum 12 “Towards zero methane emissions”);
  • Vlada Streletskaya, Director of Association “RNC of the WPC”, Executive Assistant to Rector at Gubkin University (Forum 16 “Future skills for an evolving workforce in the energy transition”);
  • Valery Kryukov, RAS Academician, Director of Institute of Economics and Industrial Engineering within the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Forum 17 “Innovation & partnerships in supply chains”).

Forum Officers (chair and two vice-chairs) play an important role in shaping the Congress programme. They prepare proposals for the thematic focus and content of the Forum they supervise, invite and select speakers.


Our country has the largest representation in the governing bodies of the 24th World Petroleum Congress. This is a good opportunity to promote Russia's position at the largest and most authoritative international platform of the industry – the World Petroleum Congress.
